Departments in Osaka Seikei College

The Department of Linguistic Expressions & Culture facilitates entry into a variety of industries, such as advertising, media, finance, services, tourism, and trade by educating students about the benefits of excellent communication skills and of proficiency in another language. Students are encouraged to express their thoughts and opinions and are taught the necessary skills for good communication. Students are taught with and have access to computers, audio-visual, and other equipment.

The Department of Integrated Life manages three courses; living design, food, and nutrition. These courses aim to produce fashion and food specialists, i.e. licensed cooks and dietitians. Practical training is provided through numerous experiments. It is from experience as well as lectures that one learns about the methodology and the basis of the theories.

The Department of Elementary and Preschool Education, having more than 50 years of educational experience, has drawn up a curriculum to produce teachers for elementary schools, kindergartens, and nursery schools.  These teachers are taught to cope with all areas of a childfs development; intellectual, physical, social and emotional, through understanding child development and child psychology.

The Department of Tourism, one of the few such departments in the country, offers a practical curriculum based on more than 35 years of experience, and aims to nurture individuals seeking work in the international hospitality industry in the 21st century. We also teach business etiquette, presentation, and speaking skills, and provide overseas and external training, such as excursions to further develop foreign language skills, cultural understanding, knowledge, and the international sensitivity required of cosmopolitan individuals.

The Department of Business Management and Accounting provides practical studies such as cultivating a business sense, broad perspective, and presentation skills, while enhancing the ecan-dof spirit so appreciated by companies. Practical accounting with business competence is called for in business rather than specialized accountancy knowledge. We produce flexible and confident individuals with bookkeeping and professional business ability, computer proficiency, and business communication skills required for business.

It can be said that this college is focused on the development of professionals.  An extensive IT infrastructure, such as Internet-connected computers, has been prepared to better develop a practical and efficient workforce through an in-depth appreciation of corporate needs.
